The Broadband corDECT system is highly modular - a single switch system can economically scale from 100 to 5,000 subscribers. Advanced provisioning, scheduling, multiplexing and routing functions in the switch and base stations ensure maximum service availability and QoS. Range extender transceivers provide manifold increase of the basic 10 km LOS coverage to allow the operator to cover both very dense urban and sparse rural areas. Realizing the fact that many markets cannot afford a personal computer for data access both from the perspective of cost and power consumption, variants of the subscriber terminal provide in built Internet/intranet access that enables the subscriber to access various data services such as SMS, e-mail and chat. All subscriber terminals are capable of working from solar power and have various battery options obviating the need for a source of continuous electrical power.
