Dr.R.Aravind

Academic Background

Dr.R. Aravind received the B.Tech. degree from IIT Madras, and the M.S. and Ph.D degrees from U.C. Santa Barbara, all in Electrical Engineering. He was a Member of Technical Staff at AT & T Bell Laborataries where his work was in image and video compression algorithms. He was an active participant in the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video codec standardization activities.

From September 1995 he has been a faculty member in the Department of ElectricalEngineering, IIT Madras. His R&D activities here have included real-time speech and video coding as well as modem simulation studies.
