Dr.Jhunjhunwala has made a unique contribution in the area of academic-industry interaction, especially in the area of Telecom and IT industry. He works very closely with numerous Indian industries including Crompton Greaves, ITI, ECIL, HTL, Shyam Telecom, HFCL, Usha Martin, BPL, Satyam Infoway, Reliance Telecom, Dishnet, ARM and Benchmark Systems. He and his group advices these industries in a variety of aspects including technology trends, Research and Development, product development and international collaboration. His group has collaborative projects with all these industries and has brought to the tune of Rs.10 crores of industrial funding at IIT. Besides, Dr.Jhunjhunwala has been pushing these industries to adapt itself in the post-liberalisation era to standup with the very best in the world. Dr.Jhunjhunwala advises several industry leaders in technical and policy matters.

Dr.Jhunjhunwala has also established strong linkages with international industry and have projects with Analog Devices, USA and Acacia Networks, USA, Siemens, HP R&D Labs, USA and Media Labs.
